Construction webinar puts marketing to the fore

LONDON/BRISTOL/LEAMINGTON SPA: Construction professionals were introduced to the future of marketing at a workshop and webinar organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG). The event was held simultaneously in three centres, with live links between venues.

Each speaker addressed a different aspect of online marketing, from blogging, advertising and public relations to social networking.

Jane Rigby, of construction specialist MRA Marketing, addressed the issue of 'integrated marketing', outlining  practical measures for effective online and traditional marketing.

"Most companies in construction have some presence on the web, but increasing numbers are looking at extending their reach to include blogs, social networks, and Twitter, but aren't sure which applications are likely to be useful, or how to use them for maximum return on investment.

"Those who plan effectively, and make the most of their own resources and outside expertise, are well placed to capitalise on the opportunities available."
