Good roofing guide helps merchants advise customers

WATFORD: BRE (Better Regulation Executive) has launched practical information on ensuring good performance of roofs and how to avoid things that can go wrong.
The 3rd edition of BRE's Roofs and Roofing, written by BRE experts, is due for publication in mid-July.
The publication draws on BRE's vast knowledge acquired from a large number of surveys and reports on roofing defects.
The extensively revised third edition contains new coverage of extensive lightweight green roofs, modern methods of construction, photovoltaic systems, thermal insulation, loft conversions and single-layer membranes, metal roofing, siphonic roof drainage, new materials technologies, improved finishes for timber, metals and concrete, provisions to accommodate climate change, new standards on roof drainage.
