DERBY: Browns Builders Merchants in Derby and Bardon Concrete in Spondon, have donated materials to help build a garden wall for a couple in their 80s who were swindled by a crooked builder.

He failed to complete the work and wrecked the garden during initial preparation work. Subsequently, the builder was jailed after he admitted stealing £194,860 from five victims including the couple.

Local residents, Steve Copenhurst and Darren Hodgkinson are re-building the garden wall for the couple at no charge using donated materials.
