YEOVIL: Kingfisher, owner of B&Q and Screwfix launched a new online trade directory, JobSorted.com, last week.

Homeowners post details of a job they need doing on the website and then receive estimates from trades people.

Before launching, JobSorted.com surveyed of 3 000 homeowners and found that a third struggle to find a tradesperson and 70% worry about fraudulent traders.

The site has more than 150 000 trades people registered and users can search by postcode and trade, as well as posting specific jobs.

There's an emergency callout button if the user needs someone in a hurry.

The site checks industry registers to ensure that those displaying registered association logos are qualified to work to Building Regulations standards.

Users can also rate how well work was done. The site is free for the public and trades people to use.
