North Yorkshire Timber doubles wood product sales

Published:  24 January, 2011

CATTERICK: North Yorkshire Timber reports turnover of £15m boosted by its roof truss sales.

Sales at the company's engineered wood products division doubled from £650 000 to £1.2m. The company branched into roof truss production in September 2009 to complement its range of joists, beams and flooring products.

The company expects further sales increases from timber and cement cladding products and a new truss press that will boost its production capability by 50%.

Nick Kershaw, managing director said: "The investments have had a big impact on our sales performance. We already have an order book of £250 000 for this year."

North Yorkshire Timber has secured a licence to make the timber camping Pod, a new form of accommodation for the camping and leisure industries.
