Time to ReThink

LONDON: ReThink is a new consultancy service designed to support the timber specification and supply chain.
It is set to provide a range of services including:
- Improving the integration of timber into sustainable design and construction
- Consultancy to organisations seeking to maximise their sustainability performance and exposure
- Consultancy on supply issues such as responsible sourcing
ReThink capitalises on the expertise of the UK’s leading generic timber organisation, the Timber Trade Federation, although it has been set up as an independent operation, allowing non-TTF members access to the consultancy’s service.
Stuart Harker, sustainability director for ReThink, said: “The market is ready for a company like ReThink. In these challenging times for the industry, ReThink has been designed to help companies identify and capitalise on the new opportunities and markets.
“From new legislation on due diligence to a changing requirements in sustainable construction, the prerequisites for the timber industry are increasing. ReThink will help companies who don’t have the time or the expertise to deal with these issues.”
Also playing a prominent role in the development of ReThink will be Rachel Butler, who will direct operations, she added: “Responsible procurement is becoming a requirement rather than a nice to have and organisations sometimes need a little help avoiding the pitfalls.
“Sustainability is moving rapidly up the agenda with both specifiers and the Government – timber companies need to be in the right place if they are to capitalise on the available opportunities. ReThink helps companies to do just that, and initial feedback has shown that there is a clear and immediate need for a service of this type and we are already fulfilling orders both in the UK and abroad.”
