Travis Perkins in joint deal

Published:  23 June, 2009

DORSET: Travis Perkins is redeveloping its Bridport branch in a joint planning application with supermarket, Lidl that occupies the adjacent site.

District council planners approved the joint company application that attracted fierce criticism over the effect of the supermarket on the town's small traders.

As part of a joint application, Travis Perkins will replace its headquarters buildings, financed by the money it gets from Lidl, adding some five extra jobs to its current 25-strong depot workforce.
