Biomass pellet stockists beware

ITALY: A consignment of wood pellets from Lithuania have been found to be contaminated with radioactive cesium 137.

It was not known how many other EU countries had been affected.

The Italian government said the cesium 137 in the Naturkraft 6mm pellets would become active when heated and the ash could be a health hazard.
