Jewson clobbered by Connaught collapse

Published:  18 October, 2010

COVENTRY: National merchant Jewson looks set to join Speedy Hire and Travis Perkins as another trade creditor to be hit hard by the collapse social housing group, Connaught.

The merchant was exposed for what is thought to be £3m, although this figure may have improved. Speedy Hire admitted that it had lost £1.7m and TP stated it had "significant exposure" following Connaught's descent into administration at the beginning of last month.

Unsecured creditors are expecte to get almost nothing from the administrators, but work is said to still be "at an early stage".
