Unimer enters joint-venture with Buildstore
Published:  07 October, 2010

UK: United Merchants, the industry's leading invoice clearing house for building products, has entered into an exclusive joint-venture with Buildstore, the country’s chief supplier of services to the self-build and home renovation market.

The aim of the Unimer/Buildstore partnership is to facilitate the connection of self-builders and major renovators to merchants and suppliers.

Merchants and suppliers that join Buildstore Connections will gain access to genuine consumers with real projects, supported by approved finance. Consumers will enjoy access to goods and services at competitive prices, as well as expert advice.

In a relatively short time, Buildstore has transformed the self-build market for consumers with a range of innovative products and services focused on the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon and the provision of innovative finance mortgage facilities.

Every year, more than 20 000 people in the UK embark on a journey to build their own home, spending an average of £70 000 on materials alone – a total spend of £1.4Bn. In a market that is predicted to grow faster that the traditional housing market over the next five years, that’s great news for builder merchants and their suppliers.
