Unimer invests in Green Energy Centre

Published:  14 September, 2010

WEST SUSSEX: Unimer has recently taken an equity stake in the Green Energy Centre – an exclusive merchant lead supply chain for a low carbon future.

Recognising the rising interest and need for energy efficiency, sustainable energy sources, and ventilation management within the building materials sector, Unimer has reached an agreement in principle to take an equity stake in the exciting new business proposition that has been developed by Green Energy Centre.

The Green Energy Centre is a franchise based business opportunity that will be offered exclusively to Unimer merchant members and will create a new business opportunity for merchants in what will be the fastest growing market sector in the construction industry over the next few years.

The Green Energy Centre franchise will create a national supply chain, capable of meeting the technical and product supply needs of this growing sector and will establish technically trained teams and product showrooms throughout a network of independent merchants across the UK.

Howard Grant, managing director, Unimer: “This is an exciting business proposition for Unimer to be involved with from the outset. The Green Energy Centre solution is highly innovative and will be of interest to all types of merchant whether they are general merchants, lightside or heavyside. Product supply in this new market sector breaks across some of the old supply chain demarcation lines and may lead to merchants working alongside each other to deliver a comprehensive product solution for a customer”.

Lorcan Anglin, managing director, Green Energy Centre: “The Green Energy Centre franchise provides any merchant with the technical and product knowledge and capability to develop high volumes of business in the fastest growing market sector. We are delighted to be supported by Unimer in developing this market sector and look forward to the Unimer merchants discovering how exciting and profitable this market will be.”

Unimer will contact all of its merchant members as soon as the marketing programme has been finalised.
