Tile depot goes online

SLOUGH: Tile and stone retailer Tile Depot has launched a new user-friendly website to improve its online trading.
Tile Depot, one of the UK's biggest independent tile and stone retailers, hopes the new website's customer-friendly layout will appeal to online shoppers everywhere and with the new features of 'Click & Reserve' for store collection and 'Free Samples' it aims to provide a 'one-stop shop' for trade and consumer tiling needs.
The website will also sell bathroom suites at a later date from the Balterley range, which are currently sold in selected Tile Depot stores. The site will feature a link for customers to track orders and find out delivery times, or customers can call a dedicated customer service line for Tile Depot bathroom customers - these features make the purchasing of a bathroom suite more convenient for customers, as they no longer have to wait in for deliveries to arrive.
On the new site, www.thetiledepot.co.uk, customers can choose from a large selection of ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles as well as adhesives, sealants, underfloor heating, aftercare products and tools. The website also features tips and advice, and a detailed 'how to tile' guide to provide support to customers.
Tile Depot has 15 stores across London and the South East, and has seen a boom in business as more and more consumers adopt a "don't move, improve" attitude during the economic downturn.
Operations director David Fitzgerald says the new website has already received strong feedback from customers: "We always welcome feedback from customers and so far the response to the new site has been extremely positive. As our in-store staff are highly trained to offer help and advice, we wanted to make sure our online customers experienced the same levels of support. We believe we've achieved this, but we're open to suggestions on how we can improve the site even more."
