Hunter Plastics’ service to its customers continues to improve as a result of the Continuous Improvement Programme instigated in mid-2006.
The following has been achieved: a 10% improvement in the delivery in full and on time service Hunter provides to its customers (his currently stands at 98%+ in 2007); a series of KPIs across the business against which all employees can achieve a significant financial bonus; the introduction of ‘lean manufacturing’ and process techniques, supported by NVQ training across all operational departments; enhanced, mutually agreed customer development plans aimed at providing customers with volume, profit growth and enhanced service; clarity about the company’s ‘vision, mission and values’ as it aims to improve its customer offering in the future.
£6m-plus has been invested in the business over the past three years aimed at achieving continued business growth, process improvements and ongoing product and service innovation. Customer service remains the key to differentiating Hunter from other companies and the company maintains a daily focus on all aspects of getting it right.

Buildbase nominated BS Eaton as its best supplier. In its own, most recent, internal supplier awards, Buildbase named BS Eaton “as the supplier that had outperformed all others”.
Some 39% of the branches that trade with BS Eaton nominated the company as their number one supplier. In total, 56% placed them among their top three suppliers and none of the focus groups considered BS Eaton to be a poor performer.
The Buildbase awards has a points system which factors in the size and number of branches each supplier deals with and BS Eaton amassed more than double the points of the second-placed supplier.
