Wickes paints the town - white
Published:  26 July, 2010

DORKING: A trail of white paint on Dorking high street led to Wickes in Vincent Lane: paint spilt from a delivery truck as it negotiated the one-way system was the cause.

A spokesperson for Wickes said: "One of our delivery vehicles did encounter a problem with part of its load of emulsion paint in the Dorking area last week and regrettably there was spillage from several containers.

"The correct decision was made to continue the journey to our store to ensure that the problem could be dealt with appropriately on our premises and the split paint and containers disposed of responsibly."

Wickes apologised for the problem that is under investigation. It will also reimburse the local authority for any costs of additional road sweeping and cleaning.
