Kent Blaxhill relaxed about England game

COLCHESTER: Iain Wicks, Essex chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, urged employers not to take a hard line towards employee football fans desperate to watch England's crunch World Cup clash with Slovenia today.

Mark Brown marketing manager at builder's merchant Kent Blaxill, predicted the company's stores will be "as dead as a doornail" during the match.

"Most of our customers will be at home or in the pub themselves to watch the game," he said. "We haven't made any arrangements for our staff, but we're expecting it to be quiet and no one will complain if people want to listen on the radio."
