Lee leaves Bristan

Published:  08 June, 2010

TAMWORTH: Bristan Group has bid a fond farewell to Steve Lee who, after 19 years with the company, has stepped down as chairman.

Mr Lee joined Bristan in 1991 and was instrumental in growing the business after leading a management buy out in 1997.

Under his direction, Bristan grew from a small business with eight people to a multi-million pound success which attracted the interest of Masco, the US global home products group. Mr Lee  sold the business to Masco in 2002 but stayed on as CEO, steering Bristan through a merger with other Masco-owned brands including Heritage and Gummers to create the Bristan Group. He became chairman in 2008.
