£7m factory for flooring adhesives firm

Published:  05 June, 2009

LEEK: F Ball and Co has completed the construction of its 30 000ft2 factory, extending the company's manufacturing capabilities at its Cheddleton site.

The move represents a £7m investment. The factory will add production capacity to F Ball and will meet the increased demand for its high performance Stopgap subfloor preparation products.

Designed and constructed using the latest technology, the site features advanced palletising equipment and fully automated packing machines, increasing the throughput rate to over 40 tonnes an hour.

Aiming to minimise the environmental impact of the building, F  Ball has incorporated the latest energy-saving measures into the factory' design.

The building has been insulated and measures have been taken to minimise the potential for noise and dust emissions.

Founded in 1886, F Ball and Co manufactures flooring adhesives and floor preparation products. Its Recommended Adhesives Guide (RAG) matches adhesives to more than 5000 brand name floorcoverings from over 200 international manufacturers.
