ATAG sponsors low carbon rally

Published:  22 April, 2010

CHICHESTER: ATAG Heating UK is to sponsor the forthcoming CIBSE Southern Region 2010 Low Carbon Yacht Rally to be held on 26 June.

The event, organised by engineeres Pope Consulting, is open to all connected with building services and will be held over a Portsmouth-based course that includes the challenge of rounding the Nab Tower using only renewable energy.

Managing director, Phil Bell, who has been involved with the yacht rally since 1994, said: “We are pleased to be able to sponsor this great event and to associate ourselves with something that focuses attention on renewable energy in such an innovative and exciting way.

“There will be a dinner and prize-giving in the evening on the viewing platform of Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower. From this vantage point, 100m above the water, there are spectacular views of Portsmouth, the Solent and the Downs.”

Said Derek Pope, managing director of Pope Consulting: “We would like to hear from anybody who would be interested in a place on a boat: corporate sponsors and owners of fossil-fuelled craft, who would like to offset their emissions.”
