SUDS seminar taps key issues

Published:  01 April, 2010

WEST MIDLANDS: Polypipe Water Management Solutions (WMS) hosted its third SUDS Planning for Change seminar in Birmingham. It provided a platform for further debate on the current drainage and water management practices taking place in the UK.

The event, held at Austin Court – the home of the Institute of Engineering and Technology in Birmingham – attracted 121 delegates from the public sector, local government, consulting practices and contractors and provided engineers, planners and consultants with the latest advice and guidance on a range of drivers currently affecting SUDS and water management best practice.

Topics covered during the seminar included forthcoming legislative changes such as the Floods and Water Management Bill and Water Framework Directive, design guidance for modular cell drainage systems and advice on how to use engineered, below ground SUDS solutions as part of a sustainable water management scheme.
