Lafarge re-launch wins NBG approval

Published:  02 June, 2009

BIRMINGHAM: Members of the National Buying Group welcomed Lafarge Cement's new packed product range yesterday.

Lafarge re-launched its cement portfolio this spring as part of its campaign for more on-pack communication and guidance on sustainable building products for builders' merchants. It is a welcome announcement for the struggling heavyside sector.

NBG chairman, Allan Durning, met with Lafarge Cement's Kevan Greenhalgh and Chris Hall at Wheelers of Erdington, Birmingham, to mark the success of the campaign's initial roll-out.

Commenting on feedback from the NBG's members, Mr Durning said: "The new packaging across the Lafarge Cement range has been well received by our members.

The colour-coding makes for easy identification and supports selection and application in what can be a complex market to navigate. We fully support this investment by Lafarge and hope that it continues to support retailers' sales strategies during the current tough climate."
