Stanley kicks off fever pitch promotion

SHEFFIELD: Stanley has kicked off the World Cup frenzy with the launch of a match-winning football-themed promotion. It will help retailers and professional users to score some top deals and promotional benefits through the build-up and duration of the biggest sporting event in the world.

Stanley’s four-stage promotion has been designed to give big discounts on a fine squad of hand tools and accessories. The promotion, which runs until the end of July, will also provide pre-loaded dumpbins, point-of-sale and additional retailer incentives.

The four stages will mirror the World Cup tournament structure with a different batch of product deals available at each stage from the 'qualifiers' through to the 'semi-final’.


Retailers can buy into the promotion at any stage, but those who spend a minimum of £2500 on list priced products will automatically qualify for the final deal which offers a 70% on a limited edition six-piece FatMax chisel set, presented in an exclusive wooden display case.

Football fun

Alongside the deals, there will be a dedicated Stanley Fantasy World Cup League, free Stanley Supporters' Packs and a Win a Footballer's Life competition.


Each retailer will be invited to host their own Fantasy World Cup Mini league with a prize of £5000 of tools to whoever ends the tournament with the league that has the highest average score.

Stanley will also be giving away thousands of Supporters' Packs to help professional tradesmen lend their support to the England teams. This will be promoted through in-store point-of-sale.

The merchant's customers pick up a leaflet in-store and log on to to get the 'Full English' T-shirt and an England sticker for their van, car or toolbox.

The 'Football Survival Kit' contains a cooler bag and bottle opener key ring inspired by Stanley's demolition tool, the FuBar. The promotion reaches fever pitch in May with Stanley's Win a Footballer's Life competition - the golden boot of prizes.

One tradesman will scoop a prize package that includes a professional football or golf coaching session, a drive in a supercar, £2500 of spending money a personal shopper, a VIP night out in London, an interview with a top talkSPORT presenter and a WAG.

Entry to this high profile competition is by text and will be supported by in-store point-of-sale, a talkSPORT promotion and extensive public relations.
