Merchants help prevent crime in the Home Counties

Published:  08 March, 2010

HAMPSHIRE: B&Q and Wickes are participating in a police crime prevention programme.

Hampshire police will host crime prevention information stands around Test Valley throughout March to help the public protect themselves against crime.

Safer Neighbourhood teams will be at Wickes in Andover on Saturday 13 March and Thursday 18 March and officers from the Romsey team will be in the B&Q store in Nursling on Saturday, 20 March and Wednesday, 24 March.

The stores will provide a 10% discount on the day as part of the campaign.

Melody Manning, Test Valley crime prevention officer, said: "There are so many simple crime prevention measures that members of the public can take which could make all the difference. We are urging people to spare a few minutes to stop and talk to us and help us build communities within Test Valley where people feel safe and stay safe."
