Everbuild achieves NBG preferred supplier status

LEEDS: Everbuild Building Products has secured a significant UK-wide agreement with National Buying Group (NBG) to become a preferred supplier of building chemicals, adhesives and sealants to the organisation’s network of independent builders merchants.
The agreement, which will see Everbuild replacing Bostik as the main supplier of building chemicals to NBG members, is worth in the region of £3m of new business.
This is the first deal the organisation has completed since it restructured its negotiating teams into category management groups to focus on product areas rather than geographical regions.
Everbuild’s agreement, which is for 2010 and 2011, includes the supply of the company’s Feb, Aquaseal, Everbuild, Geo-Fix, Opti-Mix and Kwikgrip product ranges, which are manufactured at its factory in Leeds.
David Seymour, managing director of Everbuild Building Products, said: “NBG is a very well-respected organisation with significant buying power. Securing this relationship with the organisation and its nationwide network of member builders merchants is an extremely positive development for our UK business operations.
“We went through a tough tendering process to achieve this prestigious supplier’s agreement, which is testament to the quality, pricing and reputation of our products.”
Allan Durning, National Buying Group executive chairman, said: “Everbuild is the first beneficiary of the recent introduction of category management. Groups of independent merchants like ours have to start thinking like national merchants if they are to fully compete in the marketplace and arrange the best, most competitive deals.
“Everbuild has a strong range of market leading building products and well known brand names, which will be an excellent addition to offering our members to their trade customers.”
