Wickes store openings

SLOUGH: Wickes is relocating its store in Twinches Lane, Slough, to Farnham Road, just round the corner.

The firm says the new store will be 'bigger and better', with a "stunning" showroom area and several hundred new product lines.

On Saturday, Wickes opens its new Reading store, also a relocation to a new site in Oxford Road that includes a showroom and 10,000 sq ft garden project centre. Its current store in Weldale Street will cease trading on Friday.

David Furness, Wickes operations director said the new centre was part of a major investment programme and will be the seventh Wickes store to open nationally this year.

"The new and improved Reading Wickes store is a major investment in the area and plays a significant role in our ongoing investment programme across the UK," he said.

"Relocating the Reading store has allowed us to re-open a new and improved site and, as a retailer that's serious about home improvement projects, this enables us to offer even more of our range of quality trade and home improvement products to the local community.

"We know that once a customer has visited one of our stores they return time and time again to enjoy quality products, low prices and advice."
