LONDON: Wickes won the 'Now is the Time' category at the 23rd annual National Training Awards.

The 'Now is the Time' category was launched in 2009 to encourage employers who have invested in training during the recession, to share their experiences.

Lord Mandelson, business secretary said: "Our future growth will be led by educated, enterprising and talented people with the right skills. So it's more important than ever that we continue to support and invest in the training of our workforce."

"I'm pleased to congratulate the winners of this year's National Training Awards for helping people develop their skills and driving business success. They should be very proud of their achievements," he said.

The National Training Awards are organised on behalf of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills by UK Skills, and sponsor of the National Training Awards is City & Guilds.
