Stolen – Keston's prototype boiler

Published:  10 December, 2009

KENT: Keston had planned to launch a new-look boiler for 2010, but following the theft of the one and only prototype on 25 November, has had to delay its launch.

The company decided to go public with the news today. The Q37 prototype, last seen outside Keston's headquarters in Bromley, was going to provide the largest heating output in its Qudos range – domestic boilers that link seamlessly with a renewable energy source – and was the first boiler to showcase Keston's new-look casing.

"While this boiler may look good, it was only a prototype and not a fully working version, so if the villains try to install the Q37 it is likely that it won't work as well as it should," said a Keston spokesman.

Speculation as to who stole the boiler continues, as Keston's headquarters are located down a country track.

Anyone who may have seen the theft being committed or who can help identify the thieves can claim a reward by phoning 020 8462 0262.
