Published:  02 December, 2009

BIRMINGHAM: VAT changes affecting the supply of goods and services throughout Europe take effect on New Year's Day, Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

It advised businesses involved in export or import to prepare now for the changes that will affect any company supplying or receiving services to or from overseas firms.

Midlands Enterprise Europe Network, part of BCCI, and Midlands World Trade Forum will host a free workshop on Friday 11 December at Chamber of Commerce House.

Speakers from Ernst & Young LLP will present businesses with information on the implications of the new VAT rules and procedures, together with how businesses should comply.

For more details about the event or to register, call Midlands Enterprise Europe Network on 0121 455 0268 or email p.meikle@birminghamchamber.org.uk
