Wolseley joins Get Britain Building

Published:  27 November, 2009

LEAMINGTON SPA: Wolseley has joined the Get Britain Building campaign. First launched in February this year and led by the Builders' Merchants Federation, the campaign calls for a new business environment to help the UK construction industry in the current economic climate.

Rob Marchbank, chief executive officer of Wolseley Europe and managing director of Wolseley UK, said: "The unprecedented market conditions continue to be challenging and we fully support any campaign which provides a benefit to communities and the sector. We welcome the pledge by the Government to invest £1.5bn in the housing sector, and encourage the government to ensure the investment materialises."

Mike Leonard of the Get Britain Building Campaign said: "We are delighted that Wolseley is backing the campaign to Get Britain Building. The support of the UK's largest distributor of plumbing and heating materials will prove invaluable as we seek to persuade Government to put the recovery of the construction sector at the heart of its plans for economic recovery."
