Paris without leaving the Vale

EVESHAM VALE: Staff at Jewson in Evesham cycled 322 miles, the distance between Evesham and Paris, headquarters of Saint Gobain, Jewson's parent company.

But the cycling was on an exercise bike to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

Tracy Wiacek, a management trainee at Jewsons, said: "The hospice's energy and determination to look after others is inspiring, and we feel everyone should do their bit to support this worthy cause."

The company has chosen St Richard's to be the company charity of the year, and the Evesham branch has pledged its support to the Worcester-based hospice.
