Wickes funds youth club refurb

LYMM: Wickes funded Lymm Youth Club's refurbishment with a grant to revamp the toilets in the Bridgewater Street building.

Simon Lee, customer service manager, said" "The centre will continue to serve thousands of children, elderly people and various organisations, including schools, social clubs and activities for people with special needs.

"As a major supplier of all kinds of building supplies, we were in a position to offer practical help with the toilets," he said.

Committee spokesman Neville Davies said: "This sort of support from local businesses is just brilliant.

"We are determined to keep this building as a facility for our community, young and old, and it was very disappointing indeed when Warrington Borough Council, our landlords, said they would not reduce our rent or make any contribution to maintenance costs," he said.
