"Many companies have been avoiding committing too far ahead, but February 2010 is now on the horizon, the retail market is looking stronger and interest in taking space at the show has picked up noticeably after the summer," he said.
Totally Tools: Totally DIY: Totally Secure runs alongside Spring Fair International in Hall 10 at the NEC in Birmingham on 7, 8 and 9 February 2010.
Recent signings to Totally DIY include Active Products, Dustbubble, Darlac Tools and HG Hagesan, most of which are returning to exhibit at the newly located show after a break.
In addition, JMS Bridge, Plasti-kote, RhinoCo Technology, Salepoint Shopfitting and Sodepac International have all renewed their stands for 2010, with RhinoCo, Salepoint and Sodepac all opting to increase their selling space.
The latest company to sign up to Totally DIY is Interplex Solar, specialising in solar-powered products including photovoltaic gel batteries and solar panels, plus solar chargers and inverters, while new to Totally Tools is Veto BV, a Dutch tool company with over 40 years of experience in the tool market which wants to expand its existing business in the UK and will be on the look-out for new customers and merchant partners.
In addition, Scan Safety Products has signed up for Totally Tools, along with Rapid UK which is returning to the show.
"Our exhibitors are motivated by the shows' new location and the opportunity running alongside the Spring Fair will offer for them to attract new visitors, plus the feeling that, for our sectors the worst of the economic downturn is past, and retailers will be on the look out for new and exciting products to tempt consumers back to their stores," said Mr Grinsell.
The show also has a line-up of decorative product companies including the AkzoNobel brands; Cuprinol, Dulux, Hammerite, International Paints and Polycell, Barrettine Products, Coo-Var, Crown Paints, Liberon, Plasti-kote, Polyvine, S&S Home Supplies and the Tor Coatings brands; Blackfriar, Rust-Oleum, Solignum, Ecolibrium and Zinsser - with more names to come.
With their new central location in Birmingham, the Totally shows are now accessible to more people than ever before, and of course, the 'show-within-a-show' format benefits from the crossover of relevant visitors from each Totally sector.
This, combined with the regular attendance of around 70 000 trade buyers to the UK's largest retail trade show, Spring Fair International, some 10% of whom 'express a primary or secondary interest in garden and home improvement products', represents a new opportunity for all Totally exhibitors and visitors alike, said mr Grinsell.
Online visitor registration for the show is open and can be accessed on the website.
