Speculation over CRH sale of US operations
Published:  28 October, 2009

DUBLIN: Speculation mounts that Irish building materials provider CRH is seeking to sell its US distribution business.

Goodbody Stockbrokers reported the Irish company may be considering the sale which could raise between €730m and €1bn for acquisitions, said the broker.

CRH operates in the US under the Allied Building Products brand.

The Irish group has a history of buying smaller rivals, and earlier this year raised cash from shareholders, some of which will be used to build up its acquisitions war chest.
