Buyers for Bodmin Blocks

ST AUSTELL: Bulk building material carrier, Bodmin Blocks that went into receivership earlier this year is expected to be sold said administrators.

The company employs 80 staff and operates 60 vehicles at its 18-acre site tansporting aggregates, sand, block to merchants including Jewson and Travis Perkins.

Robin Allen, associate partner Deloitte, the administrators, is encouraged by the response from potential buyers of the construction haulier. Mr Allen said: "The business continues to trade as a going concern due to improving economic conditions and new opportunities emerging in the building products market."

"The response has been very encouraging, and there has been a good level of interest in the business. Deloitte is continuing to trade the business while seeking interested parties to acquire Bodmin Blocks - it is business as usual," he said.

Bodmin Blocks is a subsidiary of minerals and aggregates processor MMC Southern, which made a pre-tax loss of £36 000 for the year ending 31 March 2008.
