Ravatherm UK, part of the Ravago Group, has announced the acquisition of the UK Polyfoam XPS business of Knauf Insulation.

Taking over the extruded polystyrene manufacturing plant in Hartlepool, Teesside, Ravatherm UK will continue to sell its products under the Polyfoam XPS brand.

The transition, which completed on 1 January, 2017, is a result of the Ravago Group further strengthening its XPS manufacturing activities across Europe. The UK acquisition took place simultaneously with the French Polyfoam XPS business of Knauf Insulation.

Stuart Bell, managing director of Ravatherm UK, said the transition will have very little impact on its customers. He said: “The acquisition has been a smooth process and we are looking forward to continuing our working relationship with all of our clients. We are delighted to be part of such a high quality business that fits perfectly with our growth strategy.”

Mr Bell heads up the company with the existing Polyfoam team, which includes Ian Exall, national sales manager, David Noble, plant manager, Gemma Hurst, finance manager, and Karen Everitt, marketing manager. All employees have remained following the acquisition at the Hunter House Industrial Estate facility.

“Following the change, we’ve refreshed our branding and developed a new website, but the XPS products manufactured at Hartlepool will remain unchanged,” continued Mr Bell. “This is a really exciting time for us, as we join a company that has established success in the XPS business - which can only strengthen our offering to the market place.”
