The Howarth Timber and Building Supplies team put its best foot forward to complete the Relay for Life to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The Relay for Life took place in Stockport, with an eight-strong team from Howarth walking the track for 24 hours, taking it in turns to do laps. In total, the team raised over £3,000 to help the fight against cancer.

Howarth Timber is raising money for Cancer Research UK throughout the year, with company-wide initiatives as well as individual staff member fundraising efforts. The funds raised will support the life-saving work that Cancer Research UK carries out, such as the development of new screening techniques to detect cancer earlier.

The company’s marketing manager Neale Brewster and marketing executive Danny Graham led the team, with John Brandon, Gary Froggatt, Stephen Hudson, Chris Jeffrey, Katie Mamwell and Ratinder Sandhu all lacing up their trainers for the challenge.

Relay for Life team captain and marketing manager Neale Brewster said: “Walking for 24 hours is a big challenge, and I’m very proud of the team for stepping up and giving up their time to support this worthy charity. Cancer Research is a cause that is close to our hearts here at Howarth Timber and we’re committed to raising as much as possible.”
